While the tool calculates the annual electrical cost for both types of outdoor electronic signs, you can use the calculator to derive the cost for just one of the electronic signs.

Note: The calculator used the following assumptions.
1. On average, 40% of all pixels in a matrix are on at any given time.
2. In a course of a year, there are 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night per day.
3. Incandescent signs use approximately 30% less power at night.
4. LED signs use approximately 40% less power at night.
5. All calculated values are estimates and may or may not reflect actual annual electrical cost.
