Installing Fonts

To download and save MIM Plus fonts to your computer follow these simple steps. Note: You may need Winzip to extract some of the files. You can get a free evaluation copy at winzip.com.

  1. Click on the Download it link and a File Download Window should appear, this may take a moment or so.
  2. Make sure Save this file to disk option is selected and click on OK and a Save As window will open.
  3. Locate the MIM Plus font directory, usually located in C:Program FilesMIM!PlusMimfont or C:MIM!PlusMimfont and click Save. 
  4. Repeat process 1-3 until you have downloaded and saved all the font files you want.
  5. When you start up MIM Plus and create a new line of text. The new fonts will appear at the bottom of the list under Font Size.
  6. If you wish to re-order the way the fonts are listed, please proceed to the next step.

Re-Ordering the font list in MIM Plus.

To re-order how the fonts are listed in the MIM Plus, specifically the Font Size drop down list, follow these simple steps.

  1. Locate the Mim!plus.ini file, usually located in the C:Windows directory, or follow these short steps.

    • Click on Start and select Find.
    • Type in Mim!plus.ini in the Named field.
    • Make sure the Look in field is set to C: directory.
  2. Make a copy of the Mim!plus.ini in the C:Windows directory

    • Right click on Mim!plus.ini file and select copy.
    • Go to the C:Windows directory if you are not there
    • Right click on the directory and select paste.
    • Make sure there is a copy. The file will most likely be called "Copy of MIM!PLUS.INI".
  3. Open the Mim!plus.ini file and locate the [Font List] section.
  4. Order the fonts in the order you wish. Note: the first spot on the list must remain Font1=e8x8.fon, MIM Plus is default to this value.
  5. Once finished, change the font number to reflect the new order. For example:

    • Font1=e8x8.fon
    • Font2=e5x5.fon
    • Font3=e5x7.fon
